Yes. DPS ARA shall be a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-affiliated school for which the examinations of classes X and XII shall be conducted by the CBSE. Needless to say, DPS ARA students shall be imparted education as per the CBSE curriculum, adhering to the overall ethos of the Delhi Public School Society, East of Kailash, New Delhi – 110 065.
Yes. The medium of instruction shall be English and special care shall be taken to provide adequate additional support to the students found deficient in their command of the world’s lingua franca. It shall be the responsibility of DPS ARA to ensure such students don’t at all lose their confidence and self-esteem — in the process. With the all-round development of students being the goal, DPS ARA envisages to aid them to hone their cognitive skills so as to enable them to excel on the path of life they choose to tread.
Yes. DPS ARA shall have four academic wings:
1. Nursery/Montessori: Foundation, Nursery I and Nursery II classes
2. Junior: Classes I to V
3. Middle: Classes VI to VIII
4. Secondary/Higher Secondary: Classes IX to XII
The course content shall be based on the CBSE curriculum with NCERT books being the main components. In addition, students shall be prescribed certain other authors/books that have been critically acclaimed in academic circles as quality resource material.
While face-to-face classroom teaching shall be the main method of imparting education, every endeavour shall be made to make this process highly interactive with each student experiencing a personal touch. A fine balance shall be maintained between the traditional and digital pedagogical methods so as to optimize the learning experience of students.
Yes. The school shall house two libraries – one for Senior section and the other for Junior section. These shall be richly shelved with content material other than syllabus-prescribed books. Each library shall have a spacious sit-in area as well for the students to read/study during leisurely hours in the school. Students shall also be encouraged to get books issued for reading them during leisurely hours at home.
As per CBSE norm, each section of a class has to consist of 40 students. In Nursery classes at DPS ARA, however, fewer students shall be seated in each section to ensure enhanced care and attention of teacher to every student.
Yes. There shall be a book/stationery/uniform cash-and-carry outlet on the school campus.
Yes. DPS ARA shall operate buses/vans on most of the motorable roads leading to the localities where reside its students who wish to avail of school’s transport facility on payment of transportation fees.
DPS ARA’s holiday calendar shall conform to standard practices and factor in local weather conditions. The school almanac, to be distributed to students, shall contain a list of such holidays/vacations.
As a matter of policy and in deference to a Supreme Court order, DPS ARA has corporal punishment banned on its campus. To prevent occurrence and recurrence of unacceptable behaviour on the part of students, DPS ARA instead stresses on creating on its campus an ambience of encouragement in which appropriate/positive behaviour is planned well in advance and rewarded as and when displayed. The schoolteachers are trained to handle unacceptable behaviour without resorting to corporal punishment. In extraordinary circumstances, however, a student’s parent may be called to aid and assist the school in dealing with his/her indicipline.
Yes. There shall be a PTA helmed by parents and teachers duly elected as its functionaries at a GBM (general body meeting) of schoolchildren’s parents. It shall be primarily an advisory body to help the school management run the institution smoothly. The school may also encourage the PTA to organize events/activities that serve as a catalyst to evolution of school’s students into the best and ablest of citizens. PTMs shall be organized regularly for the Class Teacher to update parents on their child’s progress – academic and otherwise – in the semester/session just gone by.
Pre-Primary ( Classes Pre-Nursery – I ) : 8.00 a.m. – 12.00 Noon
Primary ( Classes II – V ) : 8.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.
Middle ( Classes VI – VIII ) : 8.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.
Extensive Stay-back starts at 2.00 p.m. and lasts till 3.00 p.m from Primary Classes onwards.
The afterschool activities include Academics, Interactive Classes, Physical Education & Sports, Co-curricular Activities, storytelling, and assignments.
The school calendar year is from 1st April to 31st March.
A full time in-house nurse is there to look after the day-to-day medical needs of children. There is a facility of doctor-on-call whenever required. The school has a tie-up with renowned Doctors of Ara in case of emergencies.
At present a fleet of twenty new buses cater to the needs of transport facility.

We encourage the holistic process of learning and teaching method, development of oral and written expression is emphasized upon. Home assignments are not a carry-over of class work but oriented towards honing individual talents.

Our teachers will undergo 3 months in-house training to our philosophy and methods and will have compulsory ongoing training provided in-house and by DPS Society and our partner schools.

Regular progress reports will be given through the child’s teacher, mentioning his/her strengths, weaknesses, and aptitude. You may attend the school to set up a PTA meeting, Primary Incharge, and/or school counselor to discuss specific concerns about your child’s academic performance. Parents can keep update information of their ward’s day to day development through the ERP link provided to the parents.
